Plaintext disclosure via unblocked remote content
Published Nov 13, 2024 · Updated Dec 6, 2024
Information disclosure in OpenPGP handling in Mozilla Thunderbird before 128.4.3 and before 132.0.1 allows remote attackers to read plaintext. The nsMsgContentPolicy remote-content check recognizes S/MIME encryption but relies on a separate OpenPGP URI tracker, so it fails to hard-block remote resources in encrypted OpenPGP messages. A crafted encrypted message must contain remote content that the client loads, enabling attacker-controlled requests to expose decrypted message data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
