CVE-2024-11131Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via ONVIF heap overflow

Published Mar 19, 2025 · Updated Mar 19, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in Synology Camera Firmware before 1.2.0-0525 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via ONVIF. The ONVIF implementation copies user-supplied data into a heap buffer without first validating its length, causing an out-of-bounds write. No authentication is required; ZDI limits demonstrated TC500 reachability to an adjacent network and states that successful code runs as root.
