Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode ID attribute
Published Dec 20, 2024 · Updated Dec 20, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Serious Slider before 1.2.7 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through its shortcode. The shortcode handler places the attacker-controlled ID attribute into slider markup without adequate validation or output escaping. Contributor-level access and a valid slider ID are required, and the script executes when a visitor moves the pointer over the rendered slider.
