Patient account deletion via unchecked object identifier
Published Nov 11, 2024 · Updated Nov 12, 2024
Improper authorization in SourceCodester Hospital Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to delete any patient account. The /vm/patient/delete-account.php endpoint accepts a patient-controlled id parameter in a POST request and deletes the referenced account without verifying ownership. Patient access is required; changing the intercepted id to another patient's identifier permanently removes that account.
