CVE-2024-11047Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated device compromise via unbounded path copy

Published Nov 10, 2024 · Updated Nov 12, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DI-8003 16.07.16A1 allows remote authenticated users to compromise the router via a crafted path parameter. The upgrade_filter_asp handler in /upgrade_filter.asp copies path with strcpy into a 512-byte stack buffer without checking its length. Low-privileged access and an opt value containing get or set are required; an overlong path corrupts stack memory, enabling a device crash or code execution.
