Malicious extension installation via unvalidated WebSocket origins
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Cross-site WebSocket hijacking in AUTOMATIC1111 Stable Diffusion WebUI 1.10.0 allows remote attackers to install malicious extensions. The /queue/join endpoint accepts cross-origin WebSocket connections without validating the request origin, exposing server actions to a hostile webpage. A user must visit attacker-controlled content while WebUI is running; an installed extension can execute scripts, exfiltrate data, or interrupt the service.
