Authenticated command execution via unrestricted NumPy class loading
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Pickle deserialization in GPT Academic 3.83 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through a malicious archive. SafeUnpickler.find_class accepts every class from numpy modules while loading merge_result.pkl instead of limiting resolution to required types. Low-privileged access to the LaTeX English correction plugin is sufficient, and successful exploitation runs commands with the application process's privileges.
