Information disclosure in the ipa package in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 allows local users with journal access to read administrator passwords. The FreeIPA API audit writes to systemd journal while password-bearing tools run, and journald records their unredacted /proc/pid/commandline data. Journal entries require administrative access by default, but exported binary journals or centralized collectors that preserve _CMDLINE expose the credentials to anyone permitted to read them.
