CVE-2024-11023Network attack vector

Session-data disclosure via unvalidated authentication sync URL

Published Nov 18, 2024 · Updated Nov 18, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Firebase JavaScript SDK before 10.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to capture session data via a preset cookie. The browser getAuth path trusts the FIREBASE_DEFAULTS _authTokenSyncURL value and sends authentication state to an attacker-selected absolute URL. The attack requires another method to preset the cookie and active user interaction, after which the SDK discloses session data.
