Subscriber-level shortcode execution via unvalidated AJAX input
Published Dec 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Code injection in Ninja Team Notibar 2.1.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary WordPress shortcodes. The njt_nofi_text AJAX action sends an improperly validated request value to do_shortcode, causing WordPress to interpret attacker-supplied shortcode syntax. Subscriber-level access is required, and the resulting effect is bounded by the shortcode handlers installed and enabled on the site.
