Authenticated code execution via unvalidated aimage upload
Published Nov 8, 2024 · Updated Nov 8, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in CodeAstro Real Estate Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a crafted aimage file. The aboutedit.php handler passes the uploaded temporary file and its attacker-controlled original name directly to move_uploaded_file in a web-accessible upload directory without validating its MIME type, extension, or executable content. Administrator access is required, after which a PHP payload can execute commands with the web server process's privileges.
