Unauthenticated shortcode execution via unvalidated AJAX input
Published Nov 10, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Code injection in WP Photo Album Plus 8.8.08.007 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary shortcodes through an AJAX action. The getshortcodedrenderedfenodelay handler passes an insufficiently validated request value to do_shortcode, causing WordPress to interpret attacker-controlled shortcode syntax. No authentication or user interaction is required; consequences depend on the callable shortcodes and include unauthorized site actions or data access.
