Authenticated code execution via unsandboxed LLM output
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Code injection in GPT Academic's manim plugin allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through crafted prompts. The plugin passes user-controlled prompt content to an LLM and executes the resulting Python animation code without isolating it in a sandbox. A valid low-privilege session and access to the manim plugin are required; successful exploitation grants control over backend data and processes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
