Service interruption via oversized upload filenames
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Denial of service in LMSYS Org FastChat 0.2.36 allows remote attackers to interrupt the server via a crafted file upload request. The file upload handler accepts multipart form-data with an excessively large filename without enforcing a size limit, consuming enough server resources to overwhelm the service. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful requests make the service unavailable to legitimate users.
