Unauthenticated code execution via layout path inclusion
Published Nov 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Local file inclusion in Trusty Plugins Category AJAX Filter 2.8.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute PHP code via an AJAX request. The unauthenticated get_filter_posts handler appends params[caf-post-layout] to the layouts directory and includes the resulting PHP file after only text sanitization and an existence check. Exploitation requires a matching local PHP file, including an attacker-uploaded file, and executes its code with the WordPress server process permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
