CVE-2024-10846Public exploit

Resource exhaustion via recursive YAML alias traversal

Published Jan 23, 2025 · Updated Apr 25, 2025

Denial of service in Compose Specification compose-go 2.1.0 through 2.4.0 allows local users to exhaust CPU and memory via crafted YAML. The loader's ResetProcessor.resolveReset follows YAML alias and merge references recursively without detecting a node-path cycle. A local user must cause a consuming application to parse the malformed Compose file; processing can hang until terminated or resources are exhausted.
