CVE-2024-10838Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Out-of-bounds read and thread crash via padding underflow

Published Mar 12, 2025 · Updated Mar 12, 2025

Integer underflow in Eclipse Cyclone DDS before 0.10.5 allows remote attackers to trigger out-of-bounds heap reads or crash a DDS thread. DDS_Security_Deserialize_OctetSeq and DDS_Security_Deserialize_String validate the unpadded sequence length, then subtract a larger four-byte-aligned size from the remaining-byte counter. An unauthenticated network peer can supply the buffer; over-read bytes enter an output structure, while a sufficiently large sequence length crashes the thread.
