Settings modification via missing nonce validation
Published Jan 16, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in WP User Profile Avatar 1.0.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to change plugin access settings. The wpupa_user_admin() function accepts a settings-changing request without a valid WordPress nonce, so it does not verify that the administrator intended the change. Exploitation requires an administrator to open a crafted link or request, and the resulting change alters who can use the plugin's avatar functionality.
