Authenticated XSS via unencoded preview culture
Published Nov 4, 2024 · Updated Jan 22, 2025
Cross-site scripting in the Umbraco CMS preview badge allows remote authenticated users to inject HTML when previewed content is viewed. The preview frame places the attacker-controlled culture parameter into preview-badge markup without neutralizing it for HTML output. A user must view the crafted preview, and the documented impact is limited to browser-rendered content integrity, with no confidentiality or availability effect.
