Stored script execution via unescaped custom-field description
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Stored XSS in phpIPAM before 1.7.0 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in another user's browser via a custom-field description. Database query helpers return stored strings without HTML entity encoding, so the description is printed as executable markup. An account able to edit IP-related custom fields must save the payload, and another user must view the affected page; execution can expose or alter data available to that browser session.
