Stored XSS via unescaped circuit option
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Stored XSS in phpIPAM before 1.7.0 allows remote authenticated users to run script in another user's browser through a circuit option. The circuits options handler stores the POST option value, while affected database retrieval paths return the string for display without HTML encoding. Exploitation requires authenticated access and a second user to view the stored option; the script can steal cookies or disclose files accessible to that browser.
