Authenticated command execution via concatenated MAC parameter
Published Nov 2, 2024 · Updated Apr 5, 2025
Command injection in the Tenda AC6 15.03.05.19 API endpoint allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through the mac parameter. The formWriteFacMac handler for /goform/WriteFacMac concatenates the untrusted mac value into a system command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Access to the router management interface and low-privileged authentication are required; successful exploitation runs commands in the web-service context.
