Administrator file upload via missing type validation
Published Jan 31, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in Contact Form Entries 1.3.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write files to the WordPress server. The view_page function accepts an uploaded file and stores it without rejecting dangerous file types, allowing attacker-supplied PHP content to reach a server path. Administrator capabilities are required; executable uploads can run code under the web server account when the destination permits PHP execution.
