Reflected XSS via unescaped dir parameter
Published Nov 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in Kognetiks Chatbot for WordPress 2.1.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts via the dir parameter. The support settings page inserts the attacker-controlled dir value into generated HTML without adequate input sanitization or output escaping. Exploitation requires an unauthenticated attacker to induce a user to open a crafted link, after which the injected script executes on the page.
