Settings modification via missing CSRF validation
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Bluetrait Blue Trait Event Viewer 2.0.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify plugin settings. The btev.php_settings administration page accepts a POST carrying dashboard, pruning, event, logging, and external-access options without validating a CSRF token. A logged-in WordPress administrator must open attacker-controlled HTML, after which the browser submits the forged request with the administrator's session and can alter plugin configuration.
