CVE-2024-10624Network attack vector

Server hang via polynomial-time Datetime regex

Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025

ReDoS in Gradio 4.38.0 through 5.0.0-beta.2 allows remote attackers to hang a server through a crafted Datetime input. The Datetime component's get_datetime_from_str method applies a polynomial-time Python regular expression to untrusted text containing "now". An unauthenticated HTTP request can drive a Gradio process to 100% CPU when an exposed application uses the component, interrupting service.
