Out-of-bounds write in libmpg123 before 1.32.8 allows local users to corrupt heap memory by scanning a crafted MPEG stream. The parser prematurely applies header properties to the decoding structure, leaving the PCM output buffer inconsistent with the frame format and permitting sample synthesis past its heap allocation. Exploitation requires user interaction, seeking within a valid MPEG stream, and passage through both the MPEG decoder and PCM synthesis; a crash is demonstrated, while code execution remains unconfirmed.
