Local memory corruption via unbounded reservation input

Published Oct 31, 2024 · Updated Apr 3, 2025

Buffer overflow in Details in SourceCodester Airport Booking Management System 1.0 allows local users to corrupt process memory. The reservation path passes passport and name input to gets() without a length bound, including a six-byte passport buffer. Access to the running desktop program and selection of its reservation function are required; oversized input can crash the process or overwrite adjacent control data.
