Administrator stored XSS via unsanitized button width
Published Dec 20, 2024 · Updated Dec 20, 2024
Stored XSS in Max Foundry MaxButtons before 9.8.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through a crafted button width. The button_width setting accepts an HTML event-handler fragment and emits it into the button preview without adequate input sanitization or output escaping. Administrator access is required, and exposure is limited to multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; the script runs when a user opens and interacts with the preview.
