Web UI denial via unauthenticated lockout requests
Published Dec 11, 2024 · Updated Dec 11, 2024
Improper authentication in Schneider Electric PowerChute Serial Shutdown 1.2.0.301 and earlier allows remote attackers to deny Web UI access. Each unauthenticated GET to /accessdenied increments the failed-login counter, enabling repeated requests to maintain the sole account's two-minute lockout. The attacker must reach the HTTPS interface from the local network; UPS monitoring and server protection remain operational.
