CVE-2024-10491Network attack vector

Arbitrary resource preload via unsanitized Link values

Published Oct 29, 2024 · Updated Oct 29, 2024

Resource injection in response.links in Express 3.0.0-alpha1 through 3.21.2 allows remote attackers to preload resources via crafted values. The function places caller-supplied Link values into the response header without neutralizing commas, semicolons, or angle brackets that alter header parsing. Exploitation requires application code to pass remotely influenced dynamic values to response.links, causing clients to fetch attacker-chosen resources.
