Unauthenticated component access via guessable OPC UA procedure
Published Dec 2, 2024 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
Authentication bypass in B&R mapp products before 6.0 allows remote attackers to read or change data or interrupt service through OPC UA. An insufficiently secure OPC UA authentication token exposes hidden component functions, and a crafted message can guess the access procedure and invoke them. Exploitation requires network access and the affected server configuration; mapp Services also requires mpUserX or mpCodeBox in the project.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
