CVE-2024-10476

Clinical data modification via default service credentials

Published Dec 17, 2024 · Updated Dec 17, 2024

Use of default credentials in BD Diagnostic Solutions products allows attackers on the clinical network to access, alter, or delete data. The products retain service credentials intended for BD technical support, allowing those credentials to authenticate without site-specific replacement. Exploitation requires logical access to the clinical network and sometimes physical presence at an instrument; access also permits test-result changes and system shutdown.
