Stored XSS via unescaped default value field
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025
Stored XSS in ThemeHunk Lead Form Builder & Contact Form before 1.9.8 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through form settings. The Default Value field accepts an HTML event-handler payload, stores it in WordPress, and renders it unescaped in form preview and output. Administrator privileges are required even when unfiltered_html is disabled, and visitor interaction triggers script execution in that visitor's browser.
