Address-bar spoofing via internal deep-link navigation
Published Oct 29, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025
URL validation bypass in Mozilla Firefox Focus before 132 allows remote attackers to trigger internal app-scheme navigation from web content. LegacyWebViewController navigation delegates failed to cancel requests whose scheme matched AppInfo.appScheme, including requests opened in a new frame. A victim must load attacker-controlled web content; the bypass enables address-bar spoofing and other unsafe internal URL handling.
