Cross-origin video disclosure via early principal change
Published Oct 29, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Cross-origin data exposure in Firefox, Firefox ESR, and Thunderbird allows remote attackers to read video frames from another origin. VideoFrameContainer::SetCurrentFrames changes the principal handle before all frames with the previous principal are flushed when old and replacement frame sets overlap. A victim must load attacker-controlled content while video from multiple origins is present; the consequence is limited to video-content disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
