CVE-2024-10441Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via username environment injection

Published Mar 19, 2025 · Updated Mar 28, 2025

Argument injection in affected Synology BeeStation OS and DiskStation Manager builds allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. During login, the system plugin daemon incorporates a supplied username into environment-variable construction without neutralizing argument delimiters. Network access to the login service is sufficient; authentication is not required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code as root.
