Unauthenticated code execution via GIF-header upload bypass
Published Oct 27, 2024 · Updated Oct 29, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in SourceCodester Online Hotel Reservation System 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute PHP via a crafted image. The add action in /admin/mod_room/controller.php trusts an image-size check that accepts a PHP payload prefixed with a GIF header. No authentication is required; the uploaded file remains web-accessible under a predictable date-based name, enabling server-side code execution.
