Missing authentication in Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk ThinManager allows remote attackers to alter its database through crafted messages. The ThinServer.exe monitor thread accepts unauthenticated SQL messages that change the configuration database, including API settings and keys. Network access to TCP port 2031 is sufficient, and a successful change can expose protected HTTP API endpoints without code execution.
