CVE-2024-10306Network attack vector

Load-balancer node manipulation via mis-scoped access controls

Published Apr 23, 2025 · Updated Jun 29, 2026

Incorrect authorization in mod_proxy_cluster 1.3.17 through 1.3.20.Final allows remote authenticated users to alter load-balancer nodes. Example MCMP virtual hosts place Require ip rules inside Directory, which does not restrict requests to the management URL; Location provides the intended scope. Access to the normally non-public MCMP listener is required, after which accepted requests can add, remove, or update balancing nodes.
