Unauthenticated backend access via malformed Basic headers

Authentication bypass in Red Hat 3scale API Management 2.14.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to access protected backend services. APIcast's Basic authentication header decoder fails on malformed, non-Base64 values containing special characters and skips the remaining authentication checks before routing the request upstream. No credentials or user interaction are required; exposure is limited to services that use APIcast Basic authentication and route the crafted request to a protected backend.
