Model tampering via unchecked PATCH authorization
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Incorrect authorization in Lunary before 1.5.7 allows remote authenticated users with viewer roles to modify other users’ models. The models.ts PATCH handler accepts model-update requests without verifying that the viewer owns the targeted model or has permission to alter it. A network-accessible viewer account is required; successful exploitation changes protected model data without disclosing it or interrupting service.
