CVE-2024-10270Network attack vector

Service interruption via backtracking search query regex

Published Nov 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 31, 2026

Inefficient regex processing in Keycloak before 24.0.9 and 25.0.0 through 26.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to exhaust CPU. SearchQueryUtils.getFields applies a complex Java regular expression with Matcher.find to attacker-controlled attribute-query text, permitting excessive backtracking. Low-privileged network access to a reachable search operation is required, and sustained crafted queries can degrade or interrupt the authentication service.
