Local privilege escalation via incorrect installation ACLs
Published Dec 11, 2024 · Updated Dec 20, 2024
Incorrect permissions in Ivanti Security Controls before 2024.4.1 allow local users to elevate privileges through a chosen installation path. The installer incorrectly sets access-control lists on user-chosen installation directories, leaving a privileged application path insufficiently protected. An authenticated local account and access to such a directory are required; successful exploitation grants elevated privileges.
