CVE-2024-10237Network attack vector

Firmware modification via bypassed signature verification

Published Feb 4, 2025 · Updated Feb 4, 2025

Improper firmware authentication in Supermicro X12DPG-OA6 BMC firmware 1.04.16 allows remote authenticated users to install modified firmware. The image-authentication design accepts attacker-modified firmware without enforcing BMC inspection and cryptographic signature verification. Administrator-level BMC access is required; successful exploitation installs attacker-modified code in the management controller.
