Host-file disclosure via malicious MAR external entities
Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Nov 22, 2024
XML external entity expansion in affected TIBCO Hawk products allows remote authenticated users to read server-accessible files through a .mar file. The MAR Utility and monitoringconsolecommon.jar expand attacker-defined external XML entities while processing the archive. Exploitation requires high privileges and passive user interaction, and disclosure is bounded by the server process's file permissions.
