CVE-2024-10204

Code execution via X_B and SAT parsing

Published Nov 19, 2024 · Updated Nov 19, 2024

Memory corruption in Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS eDrawings 2024 through 2025 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted X_B or SAT files. The X_B parser copies attacker-controlled data into a fixed-length heap buffer without validating its length, while the SAT parser accesses memory that was not properly initialized. Exploitation requires a user to open a malicious file or visit a malicious page, and successful code runs in the current process context.
