Unauthenticated memory corruption via oversized wlanUrl
Published Oct 20, 2024 · Updated Oct 21, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Wavlink WL-WN530H4, WL-WN530HG4, and WL-WN572HG3 firmware 20221028 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory. Goto_chidx in the login.cgi front-end authentication page processes attacker-controlled wlanUrl data without enforcing the destination stack buffer's bounds. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the request must originate from the local network; the public record does not specify the demonstrated post-overflow outcome.
