Root privilege escalation via unsafe file permissions
Published Oct 22, 2024 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Incorrect default permissions in Jamf Remote Assist 1.0.0 through 1.3.0 allow local users to escalate privileges to root on macOS. The app exposes an arbitrary file-write condition through unsafe installed-file permissions, but Jamf has not disclosed the affected path or privileged operation. A non-privileged local account and the affected app on a managed Mac are required; successful exploitation grants root control.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
