Admin session hijacking via unchanged login identifier

Published Oct 19, 2024 · Updated Oct 22, 2024

Session fixation in PHPGurukul Boat Booking System 1.0 allows remote attackers to hijack an administrator session after login. The book-boat.php flow calls session_start() but retains the existing PHP session identifier when authentication establishes a new session. Exploitation requires an administrator to authenticate with an attacker-controlled identifier, after which the attacker can reuse it to impersonate that administrator.
